Derived from 2003 plantings on sandy, limestone soils, our cool climate representation is medium bodied with luxurious flavors of ripe raspberries and black cherries, subtle earthy character and purple floral notes. From vine to bottle, our Merlot takes three full years of maturing before we release it. After a 20 day fermentation on its skins, the juice is drained and placed into three different ages of French Oak Barrels from the Loire Valley; new French Oak, semi-used French Oak, and neutral French Oak barrels, where the wine will age for two full years. Afterwards, the barrels are blended together and meet each other for the first time in bottle, where an additional year of aging takes place before we release it into your hands!
