Our 2016 Red Wine shows the fervor of Bordeaux and Rhône varieties from Columbia Valley. The fruit is sourced from the Wahluke Slope and the Art Den Hoed vineyards in Yakima; the warmest sites in the Columbia Valley. Aromas of homemade raspberry preserves and spice jump from the glass. Flavors of cooked berries harmonize with plum and rhubarb. Cabernet Sauvignon is the backbone, providing structure from older vines. Syrah brings spice and fragrant, high-toned aromas. Merlot provides the berry fruit, rounding out a complex and layered wine. Fifteen percent of the wine is aged in new French oak barrels with the balance in neutral casks.
