THE WINE: A luscious California Cabernet, the wine offers aromas of black fruit and cedar on the nose. On the palate, notes of cassis and blueberry are complemented by a subtle toastiness from a touch of French oak. Like life, the wine is complex and should be savored. FLAVORS: BLACKBERRY | PLUM | CEDAR STRUCTURE: The mouthfeel is round and velvety soft with a broad, lasting finish. COMPOSITION: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon APPELLATION: Lodi, California ALCOHOL: 13.5% CASES MADE: 2500 “I have been coming to Lodi since my first visit in 1995 with Randall Grahm, when I was visiting Bonny Doon Vineyards. I always loved the big ripe fruit that Lodi has to offer, the Cabernet tends to have lots of plum and blackberry, classic to Cabernet. What I wanted to do was to support this rich fruit with some oak and lees and some aged wine. I found when making the Locations wines with Dave Phinney that when we were able to blend in small amounts of older wine, it really helped soften the wine, it only needs a small amount to give a big impact. This wine is mainly 2018 with a small amount of 2017 blended to help soften and lengthen the back palate, Cabernet in particular is quiet angular as a young wine and by being able to blend in this older wine gives a wonderful soft rich palate while at the same time showing off the fresh rich Cabernet characters.” - Arthur O’Connor, Winemaker
