Mourvèdre 90% - Syrah 10% We last produced a varietal Mourvèdre in 2014 when grape quality aligned with quantity and availability. These conditions have finally repeated themselves again in 2019 if only for a small 40 case production. We make Mourvèdre each year as a component of our GSM blend but as a varietal wine, it is very difficult to achieve ideal ripeness and balanced flavors to make a stand-alone wine. In 2019, our Mourvèdre grapes were exceptional. We fermented with two-thirds of the grapes left whole cluster, with a long and slow, 20-day fermentation. It has aged in neutral cooperage and a little Syrah added for length and complexity.
