This well balanced and wonderfully complex wine is bursting with rich black fruit and toasty, oaky barrel sweetness. Notice black cherry, mocha, clove, black tea, anise and fresh cut grass on the nose. The palate reveals a wine soft in tannins, with medium acidity and a plump mouthfeel that gives way to flavors of ripe Damson plums, blackberries, toffee, vanilla and herbs. The finish is a long and layered mosaic of deep, dark fruit and apple pie spice. Pair this wine with anything from roast duck to French onion soup to pecan pie.
