Blackberry cobbler and dark plum are the main aromatics for this wine. In the glass the wine displays bold ripe blueberry and a touch of fig preserve paired with a good amount of tannins. The layered wine shows just a touch of well-integrated oak before drawing to a long, smooth finish. VARIETAL COMPOSITION 94% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec

Notes

2018 represents the first vintage we had fruit from Vinelands Vineyard. True to form for Colorado Merlot, the 2018 Vinelands Vineyard Merlot was big and concentrated, showed great fruitfulness with just a touch of underlying savory Rosemary. The tannins were present, but well-integrated and add great structural elements to the palate.
