The Vineyard The vineyard site is a northwest-facing slope 600 feet above the Yakima River. At our latitude the sun rises in the northeast and sets in the northwest during the growing season giving very long warm but not excessively hot days. Cabernet clones 6, 8 and 191 ripen to a range of flavors: 6 is dense and structured, 8 and 191 are aromatic and balanced. Portions of Malbec and Petit Verdot add juiciness and complexity. The hallmarks of wines from this vineyard are their effusive aromatics and balance. The Wine On the nose: aromatic cassis, black cherry, toasty oak, cinnamon and exotic spices. The palate shows sweet fruit and subtle creamy oak on the entry, a core of dark cherry with a rich middle and supple tannins, finishing with toast and baking spice. Pair with flank steak, boeuf bourguignon or dark chocolate.
