Orchard Blend #11 is made with estate-grown bittersweet and Golden Russet apples. The English Chisel Jersey in the blend provides astringency while the American Golden Russet adds hints of citrus and grapefruit. The Golden Russet is an old heirloom apple that is high in sugar and acidity - it is a wonderful cider maker's apple. We have recently planted many rows of this varietal at Smith Brothers Farm in New York and we hope to feature it prominently in future ciders.
This cider maker's cider is a blend of New York heirloom Northern Spy, Acey Mac and bittersweet Yarlington Mill, and bittersharp Porter's Perfection. This is a true American-European cider hybrid; we are biased but we think that these blends make some of the best ciders in the world.

The best of both worlds - this cider is a blend of old world and new world apples grown on the Smith Brother's Farm. We blended Porter's Perfection bittersharps for their crisp acid, Brown Snout bittersweets for their complex tannins, and Golden Delicious apples for their juicy sweetness. This is the very definition of a classic American cider.
Estate fruit produces this crisp and complex cider. Block 19 at Smith Brother's Farms is a recently-planted grove of bittersweet and bittersharp European varietals. Each year at harvest we pick what the block produces and the entire lot is blended to produce what we like to call a true cider maker's cider. We are excited to watch the trees grow and mature; we never know exactly what we are going to get from Block 19 but we know that it is going to be great.
