Piquette originates back to Ancient Roman & Greek times, where winemaking scraps were turned into the people's "wine" (yes, we know Piquette isn't technically a wine). Our 2020 Piquette rose is about all of us. It strips away any idea of how things are supposed to be and instead demands to show itself for what it is! ⠀ It's a blend of four NC grapes, 🍇 Mourvedre, Vidal Blanc, Gruner Veltliner, Traminette, and two varieties of 🍒 cherries, Montmorency and Balaton from NY. It's a mash-up with no apologies, all skin and all in. It's tingly and fizzy with rich tannin from the skins, delicate 🌹 florals on the nose, zippy ☀️ bright fruit on the palate & that signature Botanist and Barrel funk 🕺 on the finish. ⠀ 🌈 Coming in at 6.2% abv it's a day drinker's dream. ⠀ And on a side note...THIS IS the ORIGINAL seltzer. Humans have been making Piquette and ciderkin for thousands of years, which are essentially wine seltzers or spritzers, just made with real ingredients the old school way with lots of stirring, hard work, real local fruit, love, and time!
