100% Chardonnay – Quail Run’s Griffin Creek Vineyard in the Rogue Valley AVA As one of our customers noted, this is not your father’s Napa-style Chardonnay, meaning this is done in what we dub the ‘South of Oregon’ style. Stated simply, we do not use techniques to create a ‘buttery’ Chardonnay, nor do we use new French Oak, which allows the wine to present the fruit in its natural state. This is important as many associate Chardonnay with huge oak and butter flavors, so we want to ensure that while we are thrilled with the results, the expectations of the drinker should be clear that our Chardonnay is different! That said, we do ferment the wine in neutral French Oak, so our target of a plush mouth feel is still present. The aroma offers a bouquet of orange blossoms, stone fruit and comice pears. The crisp natural acidity with flavors of apple, white peach and pear finishes with a mineral driven hint of tropical fruit.
