This is our blend of Barbera and Dolcetto; the lean and fruity Barbera melds nicely with the rounder and more luscious Dolcetto to create a combination which is found nowhere else, not even in the homeland of these varieties, the Italian Piedmont region. Premiato is based on a long history of blending Barbera with other varieties, especially in our experimental foothill vineyard, founded in 1977 in Tulare County. The name means "prize-winner" and this wine has won multiple Golds, including one at the inaugural competition sponsored by Sunset Magazine.
