100% Zinfandel. Light, bright, fresh, spicy, and peppery - this is not the typical jammy high-alcohol fruit bomb that one might expect from Zinfandel. A translucent ruby color leads to aromas of bright fruit, pepper, and tobacco, followed by cherry and stewed/dried strawberry, fresh acidity, and spices, with a smooth fresh finish that spreads across the palate. This is a very versatile food wine that can accent almost any dish, but the one thing that comes to my mind immediately is wood-fired pizza. Hand-harvested by yours truly and my friends, this wine is truly a labor of love. The Johnson Family Vineyard (also home to my Cabernet Sauvignon) is a tiny (less than 2 acres) vineyard that produces some amazing fruit and I'm so pleased that I can share it with you - the 2017 & 2018 vintages sold out very quickly, so you'll be happy to know that I once again doubled production for 2019. 4 Barrels Made.
