This ultra-rare Hermitage-clone wine is a field blend of Marsanne and Rousanne (meaning the two grapes are interplanted in the same vineyard and are picked, pressed, and fermented together) from the Michaud Vineyard in the legendary Chalone AVA. The cuttings were a gift to vineyard owner Michael Michaud by the head of a 16th-generation winemaking family in Hermitage (Northern Rhone) as a thank you for having hosted him for a harvest internship back in the early 1980s. Rich, creamy, and complex, yet light on its feet. Awarded 90 Points by Wine Enthusiast!
