This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a tiny 1-acre plot at the Johnson Family Vineyard is a worthy successor to the 2019 vintage, which won GOLD at the Central Coast Wine Competition! Aged for 34 months in neutral French Oak to allow its bountiful tannins to soften and integrate into the structure of the wine. A rich garnet color with a hint of amethyst and subtle revenge; enjoy a late spring walk in the woods with subtle notes of raspberries, anise, and light tobacco on the nose; a savory mix of Bing cherry, star anise, fennel salami, leather, cassis, and dried cranberry in the mouth; leading to a forever finish thanks to the firm but light grip of the well-integrated tannins. While already drinking well in its youth, it has the complexity and structure to develop even further over many years. Pairs beautifully with prime rib and caramelized onion potatoes, lasagna, spicy sausage pizza, or a tri-tip salad with bleu cheese dressing. Only 2 Barrels Made.
