The 2017 Petit Verdot was aged for you. Bottled in Fall of 2018, we have done the hard part: waiting. This wine is ready to go now because we held it back so that it would be at peak drinkability when you got it. Your welcome. A silver medal winner at the 2019 Loudoun Wine Awards, 868 Estate produced this with mostly estate fruit, but with a bit from the vineyard down the road. Blended with Cabernet Franc, this balanced wine will pair well soft cheese and the steaks and burgers you will have during quarantine. Drink now or within the next 12 months.
The Petit Verdot shows a bright, deep ruby color. The varied bouquet presents aromas of cassis, toasted almond and mint with elements of cedar and baking spices. Berries are prevalent on the palate with raspberry, cherry and blackberry with notes of fruit compote and vanilla. The finish is clean with the suggestion of leather and black tea.
