The 2017 continues the line of fine, estate grown Chardonnays. Produced in the Chablis style and aged in French oak barrels, the Chardonnay retains its crisp acidity while maintaining sufficient body and structure to match with a range of seafoods. Pair this wine with oysters and other raw shellfish, sautéed shrimp and crab cakes. Enjoyable now, the 2017 Chardonnay will continue to develop until 2021.
Tasting Notes
The medium straw-colored Chardonnay displays surprising complexity. The aroma is intense, highlighted by elements of green apple and Bartlett pear along with hints of sweet cream, boxwood and straw. The palate is smooth and complex, with layers of apple, lemon curd and slate complemented by hints of pear and toast. The grippy finish lingers with elements of acacia and grapefruit.
