The fruit was picked over a period of 17 days in late August to mid September. Early picks had shocking & refreshing (compared to 2014/2015) overnight pH’s. Over half the ferments started naturally after moderate cold soaks. Fermentations occurred in 1 to 1.5 ton lot sizes over a period of 10-14 days. The wine was barrel aged for a period of 14 months in French Oak, 50% of it new. The final blend is a combination of five different Pinot Noir clones, all sourced from Dion Vineyard. The vines of these blocks were between 15 to 40 years in age.
Tasting Notes:
A spicy nose starts out this wine, with a solid black cherry and red plum core. The initial taste is of ripe bing cherries, an accent of Granny Smith apples, and a finish with deep black cherries, juicy red figs and a good spice of clove at the end. We really like the tannic structure of this wine, balanced with acidity and red fruits.

The vineyard was harvested over a period of 11 days in mid to late September. Only short cold soaks were required to achieve full color and flavor, with many fermentations starting naturally. Fermentations occurred in 1 to 1.5 ton lot sizes over a period of 7-10 days. The wine was barrel aged for a period of 14 months in French Oak, 50% of it new. This wine is sourced solely from a block of self rooted, dry farmed Pommard 39 years in age.
Tasting Notes:
Our 2015 Old Vine Pinot Noir has a light bright color ruby that is pretty typical for our wines from Laurelwood soils. It exhibits light grained tannins and ripe strawberries, with hints of pomegranate, dried herb, and finishes with a nice tart structure. The acids are bright, emphasizes red fruit flavors of tart cherries, cloves, graham crackers and cinnamon and finishes cleanly.

The Reserve is a 6-barrel selection from our 2017 Vintage, a mix of 5 clones of Pinot Noir - 115, 114, 667, 777, and Pommard, reflecting the best barrels we produced.
Color shows a nice dark-for-pinot Ruby.
There is vanilla on the nose, a hint of darker fruit with a bit of an earthy background. On the palate, flavors please with Italian plum and cherry cobbler cooked in a cast iron skillet, perhaps one seasoned with delicious bacon. Toffee finish

Toasty goodness greets you on first sniff, redolent of vanilla, fresh summer grass, and ripe dragonfruits and pomegranate.
This wine has fine grain tannins, bright pie cherries, pomegranates, and strawberry flavors, a lemon-peel citrusy middle, and a long vanilla finish. There are subtle spices of clove and nutmeg with a slight hint of leather, and did I mention the long finish? Delicious.

The wine is a 4 barrel selection from the 2010 vintage, aged for 13 months prior to bottling and held in bottle for over 6 months prior to release. The barrels were selected for overall highest quality of the vintage as well as for the combination of the blend.
Tasting Notes:
Our 2010 barrel-select Winemaker’s Reserve Pinot Noir is perfectly balanced with a nose redolent of earth and rose petals. Bright pomegranate gives way to leather and is complemented by a white pepper finish.

The fruit was picked from one of our oldest blocks on the 28th of September. Fermentations occurred in two 1.5 ton lots over a period of 10-14 days. The wine was barrel aged for a period of 14 months in French Oak, 50% of it new. The vines of this block were 41 years in age for this vintage, being planted in the Bicentennial year of 1976.
Smells like a fresh fruit bowl of ripe nectarines, tangerines, and grapes. Boatloads of fruit on the entry. Graham cracker crust filled with just a touch of butter, bing cherries, and a secret ingredient (no secrets, this is 100% 41 year old self-rooted, dry farmed Pommard – I meant the pie). A nice long finish lingers with plum fruit, tannin, and good acid balance.

Tasting Notes:
Big red cherries on the nose, flavors of baked strawberry pie, pomegranate, and cherry are the initial taste. With a nose of leather and tobacco, flavors of mulled cloves and cinnamon, the complexity grows and the Reserve finishes with a tart cherry or spiced apple on the palate. Juicy and delicious.
