Dark, black fruit on the nose (blackberry, plum, boysenberry). Just a touch of oak on the nose as well as cedar and tobacco. Very little of the typical vegetal character usually seen on CF, just a hint of herbal notes, along with brioche, plum, and dried fruit. Well integrated, and powerful tannins. Going to age well next 5-10 years
Knapp Winery is located on the west side of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes. It is nestled in a valley less than a mile from the shore. Estate grown vinifera such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Lemberger, comprise much of the farm land that slope to the lake.
