Horton Vineyards was founded in 1989 by Dennis Horton with the pioneering vision to introduce grapes with loose clusters and thick skins that would flourish in Virginia’s humid climate and have the capacity to produce wines to compete with the finest in the world. This search resulted in the first bottlings of many of the cornerstones of today’s vibrant industry including Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Norton, Petit Verdot, Tannat and Petit Manseng. In addition, we specialize in beautiful rarities such as Albarino, Rkatsiteli, Roussanne, Pinotage, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Syrah and Mourvedre.
