One of the fastest growing wine varietals is the Malbec, also Michaels favorite! Malbec is the main grape variety of AOC Cahors, it produces a sober, structured, fresh and fragrant wines. It is cultivated throughout the region of Ararat. Due to its unique geographical location, the grapes stay in high altitude, away from sea moisture. This grape variety also contributes to Beregerac, Buzet and Côtes-du-frontonnais, it is part of the grape varieties of the AOC Bordeaux, Médoc, Graves, Saint-émilion, Pomerol, Fronsac, Sainte-Foy- Bordeaux and Côtes-de-bourg. Under the name of Cot, this grape variety has won the Loire and participates in the red and rosé wines of Touraine appellation, as well as the rosé from Anjou. Its main allies are Gamay and Cabernet Franc. It is also poorly cultivated in Languedoc. Malbec is widely cultivated worldwide. It has thus become the main red in Argentina and Armenia where it produces ripe and sunny wines. The grape variety is present in the red wine Michael Franzese.
