Serendipity is our blend of traminette and vignoles. Normally made semi-sweet, our latest version is a blend of 2021 vignoles, 2022 vignoles and 2022 traminette, all barrel fermented. We knocked off the edges with tank fermented 2021 traminette and 2021 vignoles, each of the last two having some residual sugar.
This wine screams citrus, especially grapefruit and the rinds of all sorts of citrus. This wine is intense and has a long, lingering finish. The oak is omnipresent but tucks in nicely in the background. The wine has such a great intensity and such a long, lingering finish that I'm convinced it will be one of our all time classics. Bottled 3/20/2023.
Turtle Run Winery is located in the southern part of the Indiana Uplands American Viticulture Area and is known for making expressive wines following the European traditions of barrel fermentations, barrel aging, no oak products added, long, extended skin contact for dry reds, so no tannin addition, arrested fermentation sweet wines so no sugar or juice added. Yes, real wine. And yes, our flavors vary from vintage to vintage. We've won lots of wine competitions with "best in class" wines...coast to coast.
